Our Story
The Unapologetically LT Foundation was not built in a boardroom. It was built in the lived experience of a woman who walked out of incarceration and refused to let her story end there.

The Founder's Story
LaToya Ford, founder of The Unapologetically LT Foundation, turned her personal journey into a movement. After experiencing incarceration firsthand, she recognized a critical gap that the system consistently failed to address.
Instead of returning to cycles of survival, LaToya built a system of restoration, accountability, and empowerment. She created the organization she wished had existed — one that doesn't just inspire women, but builds the structures that make lasting transformation possible.
Today, the Foundation serves hundreds of women across Georgia through five comprehensive programs addressing reentry stabilization, mental and emotional healing, financial literacy, entrepreneurship, and faith-based guidance. Every program reflects LaToya's core conviction: you are not your past.
To restore identity, rebuild stability, and reposition women for long-term success after incarceration. We serve women who have been released back to their community within the last 18 months, or who are preparing to reenter — because that critical window is when the right support changes everything.
A Georgia — and eventually a nation — where a woman's incarceration history is not a life sentence. Where every woman who has been through the system has access to the resources, community, and opportunity she needs to thrive, unapologetically.

What We Stand For
Every woman who walks through our doors is met with unconditional respect. Her past does not define her worth — and we make sure she knows it.
We speak up, show up, and stand firm for women who have been overlooked for too long. Systemic change starts with unapologetic voices.
Healing happens in community. We build sisterhood, connection, and belonging — because no woman should have to rebuild her life alone.
We address the whole woman — reentry, mental health, finances, entrepreneurship, and spiritual wellness — because true restoration is complete.
Why We Exist
Women released from Georgia prisons and jails annually
The U.S. incarcerates more women than almost any country in the world
Women's incarceration rates are growing faster than men's
Across the United States, hundreds of thousands of women are impacted by incarceration every year. The effects extend far beyond prison walls — affecting children, families, communities, employment opportunities, housing stability, mental health, and economic survival.
Women who have experienced incarceration often return home carrying the weight of trauma, rejection, stigma, financial hardship, and limited access to the resources necessary for successful reintegration into society.
Studies show that a large percentage of incarcerated women are survivors of abuse, domestic violence, poverty, addiction, or systemic disadvantage prior to incarceration. Without support systems, many women become trapped in cycles of recidivism, instability, and hopelessness.
Unapologetically LT Foundation was created to interrupt that cycle — by restoring dignity, rebuilding confidence, and repositioning women for long-term success.
